Ioanna Tsouka

Learning Support Teacher

Originally from Greece, my university years were focused on pedagogy, psychology/ psychopathology, inclusive education and disability studies (Bachelor’s and MA degrees in Special Education) and I continually seek professional development opportunities to further extend my teaching practice. I have been very lucky to work as a SEN/ learning support teacher in Greece, Denmark, and now in the Czech Republic. My work experience spans more than 14 years in public/ state schools, mainstream and special educational institutions, as well as independent and international schools, mainly within primary and early years.

I am dedicated to inclusive practices and passionate about supporting diverse learners, as well as advocating for diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and belonging. I am thrilled about my role as a Learning Support Teacher (SfL) at Park Lane International School, working with the SEND department towards developing sustainable frameworks that support the whole child across the school, such as utilising a multi-tiered system of supports or implementing the ideas of the universal design for learning (UDL) approach, while functioning as a liaison between the Primary school (Key Stage 2) and Secondary school (Key Stages 3-5).

I feel grateful and excited to be welcomed into the Park Lane International School community, and I hope to contribute to our school’s growth and journey towards inclusion for many more years to come! I love spending my free time with my partner and our two cats, going to concerts and festivals, meeting up with friends, making dolls, learning Czech and exploring the vibrant and stunning city of Prague.
