Jonathan Booth

Teacher of English

I was born in Sheffield in the county of Yorkshire in England. I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2004 with a BA in English Studies. I then spent a year completing my PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status also at Hallam in 2005, before taking up a teaching position in my hometown where I became Deputy Head of English.

After a brief sojourn in the West Midlands in the UK teaching, the majority of my career has been in international schools in Asia: Bangkok, Thailand; Taipei, Taiwan and Beijing, China. I have been in English department leadership for eight years, including two stints as Head of English and have been a Head of Year, Co-Curricular Coordinator and led the school’s Council of International Schools re-accreditation in Thailand.

I feel my role as a teacher is to create a great working environment for students of all abilities in English Language & Literature and to foster a love of learning; equipping students to be the best they can be academically and pastorally.

Outside of school I have a variety of interests in sport and the arts. I am delighted to be here in this wonderful capital city of Prague in my first international, European post. I am looking forward to meeting all the students, colleagues and the school community and experiencing all the opportunities that life here will bring both professionally and personally at Park Lane.
