As a proud CAS coordinator, I have to say that more than half of our Y13 students have already successfully fulfilled all expectations and reached 'completed' in CAS, and the rest of the Y13 group are almost there as well. The projects and experiences they chose were really impressive and to pick just a few of the most interesting ones is a very difficult task. Collaboration, one of the main IB values, was the cornerstone for the first IB guide where all Czech IB students can find information and advice about the whole IB programme.
It was amazing to see how effectively the Y12 and Y13 students have worked together. Other projects where many of our students helped were: Charity Úsměv (Smile) mentioned in previous Secondary Updates; project Wings, to support Doctors without Borders; Park Lane MUN and many more.
Current Y12 students decided to support our Distance Learning afternoon clubs and offered chess and cooking to Primary and Secondary students. Both clubs were a great success. The whole situation which came with the coronavirus isn’t easy for anybody but reading in our students’ portfolios, of how they are sewing face masks, learning how to cook and bake and helping elderly people in need makes me feel really happy and proud to know and teach such good people and dedicated students.
