Jana Kurčonoka

Year 3C Teaching Partner

Originally I come from Latvia, capital city Riga. Before becoming a teacher partner in Year 1 at Park Lane International School, I have improved my knowledge and developed professional skills by participating in many different and intercultural projects like language teacher; as a mentor in ESF projects; as an activist and volunteer in organisation with disabled people and also as IT and Scientific research testing assistant in international PISA (OECD) project.
I hold Master’s degree in Educational Science and consider that my education has prepared me for cultural diversity and current/future challenges committed to mobilisation. I also have done Erasmus+ semester in Czech Republic, city Brno in 2014, which increased my multicultural experience and encouraged me to apply for teacher assistant at Park Lane International School. In 2017 I joined exciting, ambitious and multicultural school such as ParkLane and looking forward for challenging but fun year.

My wide background allows me to put everything in perspective and increase my own teaching philosophy which is “learning by doing” and insight which gives opportunity for children to develop their own abilities to move on in their own life, take risks and make wise decisions and responsibilities. In my spare time I attend cultural events, reading a different type of literature and tried to be present as much as possible with my beloved ones.
