After graduating from Plymouth University, I was afforded the opportunity to combine my interest in Chemistry with Marine Science through my PhD and a post-doctorate position. It was during my time working in academia teaching undergraduates and in outreach programmes that I found my passion for teaching. I subsequently retrained at Bristol University to become a secondary school Chemistry teacher, before working as a Chemistry teacher in the UK teaching both the A level and IB system co-currently as well as co-running the Duke of Edinburgh programme. I then moved to Spain, where, in addition to my role as a Science teacher with a Chemistry specialism, I took on additional roles as second in department and latterly student support coordinator.
Most recently I held the post of Chemistry teacher at an International School in Shanghai, China, where I was teaching the IGCSE and IB DP. I have a real passion for exploring creative and memorable techniques to enhance teaching and learning. In my spare time I love travelling, yoga and hiking. I am looking forward to the prospect of living in Prague and working at Park Lane International School.
