Every year on 26th September, the International Day of Languages is celebrated, highlighting the importance of language learning in fostering intercultural understanding and celebrating Europe’s rich cultural heritage. The Council of Europe encourages everyone, at any age, to explore new languages alongside their studies, promoting curiosity and global awareness. Since 2001, this day has been recognised annually across Europe.
To mark the occasion, the Modern Foreign Languages Department at Park Lane organised an MFL exercise book cover competition. Students enthusiastically decorated their exercise books with cultural elements from the languages they study, showcasing creativity and engagement. A huge congratulations to the Key Stage 3 winners across all three languages for their outstanding work!
