Last term, our Year 10 boys embarked on an innovative, inquiry-based physical education unit, creating, promoting, and managing their own community futsal league. This hands-on project allowed them to develop specialised skills across various roles. As sports administrators, they handled fixtures, results, and league tables with exceptional dedication. Referees upheld fairness by drafting league rules and ensuring respectful gameplay, while the sports media team captured the league’s excitement through live commentary, highlight reels, and social media promotion. Under the guidance of Head Coaches and High-Performance Managers, players also focused on technical growth, injury prevention, and performance analysis.
This collaborative effort not only enhanced their physical education experience but also instilled valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and community engagement. Their commitment to creating a successful and dynamic league has left a lasting impact, showcasing the power of student-driven initiatives in fostering growth and camaraderie.
