Scholarship Programme selection process
Applicants are chosen through a challenging selection process which tests English and mathematical ability as well as logic and reasoning skills, and the applicant’s personal capacity to benefit from Park Lane’s learner-centred pedagogy. The selection committee, led by the school principal, assesses each applicant’s school records for the last two years and conducts interviews with the candidate and his / her parents.
- All students wishing to join the IB Diploma Programme must provide evidence of their readiness to embark on this academically rigorous programme of study.
- Applicants are required to take entrance examinations (English, Mathematics and aptitude tests), must provide school reports for their studies and a motivation letter.
- Students who excel in the entry tests, and those who are able to demonstrate a strong record of success in their IGCSE, GCSE or equivalent in another school system, will be eligible for scholarships.

2nd Selection Round
Applicants who achieve a suitable standard in the 1st selection stage will be invited to participate in the final round.
The final stage consists of Aptitude, Logic and Reasoning tests and an interview with the school principal and IBDP coordinator. Finalists will also be expected to write a letter of motivation explaining why they consider themselves eligible for a Park Lane scholarship and what they hope to achieve at Park Lane and beyond.
- The Aptitude, Logic and Reasoning tests will help us to identify the most able students and provide us with strong indications of each student’s academic potential. These standardised tests are recognized internationally and will be supervised by an independent testing and assessment agency. The tests will be available in English or Czech.
- The interview will assess candidates’ potential to benefit from our teaching and learning approaches, and to manage successfully with the social and extracurricular aspects of school life. The letter of motivation from finalists will be discussed during the interview. The interview (with parents) will last approximately 45 minutes.
Should you apply for our IB DP, please submit following documents:
-
- School reports/ any certificates for last two years
- Motivation letter
The scholarship is intended for academically talented students. The amount of the scholarship depends on a successful selection process, such as test scores of the 1st selection round, 2nd selection round (logic tests), and an interview with the Park Lane principal and our IB coordinator. We will also study all documents submitted (cover letters, school reports for the last two years, or other certificates and diplomas).
