For the past eleven years, I have taught Years 4, 5 or 6 at primary schools in the UK and Japan. I gained my PGCE from the University of Sunderland – my hometown in England – and particularly enjoy teaching English and sharing a great book with my class. To me, the pleasure of teaching/learning is that it allows us to immerse ourselves in topics as diverse as Egyptian daily life and Greek myths, to environmentalism and saving our planet’s wildlife.
Before teaching, I worked as both a journalist and a communications specialist for international charities in Africa and Asia. I enjoy fostering a global outlook in my classes and learning about current events together.
To relax, I enjoy reading, swimming and exploring new places.
