Teacher of Spanish

Originally from Spain and educated in Switzerland and Belgium, I have always had a taste for languages and a feeling of curiosity for other cultures. I have a Bachelor degree in education and five years’ experience teaching Spanish and French to secondary levels in the UK and internationally. Along all these years, I have learned to adapt my teaching to all ability groups. I have also learnt that learning happens when students understand the relevance of a task and enjoy the lessons. Therefore, I like to expect the best of my students while delivering enjoyable lessons. I truly believe that languages are not just a communication tool but an open path to experience the idiosyncrasies of other cultures.

Nelson Mandela once said “If you speak to a person in a language they understand that goes to their head. If you talk to them in their language, that goes to their heart“. Hence, in my teaching I take pleasure in sharing my own culture’s idiosyncrasies with my students.

I am a keen traveller. I have already visited South America, Europe and Asia. I love to learn new languages, currently I speak four-ish and I have a tender spot for sports, especially cycling and climbing.
