Žaneta Nováková

Lab Technician

After graduating from Upper Secondary School of Chemistry, I had the desire to become a teacher myself. I started to study at the UHK – Faculty of Education where I deepened my theoretical knowledge. During the studies I missed the thrill of the laboratory work, that is why I have decided to pursue a career in research instead. I was fortunate to find myself a Lab-Technician position in the Czech Academy of Sciences. The research there was focused on Molecular Pathogenetics. Among many achievements the most treacherous one to me was the publication of an article involving Nobel Prize laureate Gregg Semenza as a co-author. After 5 years in CAS I started to look for new challenges and that is when Park Lane International School entered my life and brought the educational path back to me. Now I can combine both technical and educational skills and I am thrilled to be involved in the moulding process of the future possible Nobel Prize laureate.

Outside of school I enjoy travelling both locally and internationally and since I am a proper Czech I love to pick mushrooms and quote the plays of the greatest Czech genius – Jára Cimrman from memory.
