In the last week of October, Year 13 students completed practical work for their Science Internal Assessments. Between them, they carried out a huge array of experiments including measuring antibacterial effects of ointments, photosynthesis at different pHs, effects of caffeine on enzyme activity, making bio fuels, synthesising aspirin, measuring the rate of melting of icebergs, and using beats to tune musical instruments. Over the next few weeks they will be working on their reports which will go on to form 20% of their IB science grades.
