At the start of the school year, Park Lane’s Year 4 pupils completed a six-day outdoor learning programme with Outward Bound Czech Republic at Doubravka Lodge in Vysočina.

Through practical outdoor challenges—including map navigation, campfire cooking, building simple shelters, and a two-day expedition sleeping under the stars—pupils developed core school values: being Ready, Respectful, Responsible, Risk-taking, and Resourceful. The week also featured a new community service initiative in Chotěboř, where pupils visited a local care home and a specialized school.

Just days after returning, Year 4M pupils Anna O., Olivia S., and Carola S. stole the show at the British Chamber of Commerce AGM & Networking Event in the Alchymist Hotel Ballroom. Speaking publicly in front of hundreds of business leaders, including His Excellency the UK Ambassador Matt Field, the girls calmly and confidently shared their three-word takeaways of the trip, earning praise from the BCC presenter for their outstanding oracy skills. A huge congratulations to Anna, Olivia, and Carola for representing Park Lane so brilliantly!

Building on this success, our next adventure with Outward Bound will be the Year 5 winter residential in January at Brádlerovy Boudy in Špindlerův Mlýn, culminating in an overnight stay under the winter night sky.
