Year 3,4 and 5 classes had a chance to take part in the art trips which focused on exploring the crucial art elements such as line, shape, tone, texture and form. It was a great opportunity for cross-curricular learning linked to Music, ICT and Czech.
We visited the National Gallery Prague – Trade Fair Palace and Kampa Park. The art trips made learning more engaging and memorable. Pupils could interact with art in a dynamic way, fostering deeper understanding and appreciation. We changed passive learning into active participation and exploration. A multi-sensory experience, appealing to sight, touch, and even sound was very interesting. We could practise our communication skills by describing and interpreting artwork, both verbally and through our own observation. Pupils could move around, observe details, and draw their own conclusions about the artwork.
I hope that all the art visits could spark an interest in art and encourage our children to explore the subject further, both inside and outside the classroom.
