On 21st to the 23rd February 2025, six superb mathematicians from Years 12 and 13 (Sanda E., Daniela P., Barbara H., David S., Max B. and Jonas D.) successfully competed against students from across the globe at the Senior Round of the esteemed ISMTF Maths competition. Picture this; a lecture hall abuzz with the brightest mathematical minds of the next generation. All of our students put up a good fight against the tremendously tough competition, but special recognition must go to Jonas, David and Daniela, who came 11th out of the 61 competing teams.
On Sunday, all students were shuffled up into groups and then they raced around central Vienna, solving maths questions against the clock. Max’s team brought home the win! A really positive conclusion to a truly impressive weekend.
As February moved into March, seven of our top Year 9 mathematicians (Roko D., Maks Z., Sam A., Mia B., Hermina K., Sebastian D. and Stephanie H.) travelled to Vienna for the weekend to represent Park Lane at the prestigious ISMTF Middle Years Maths competition.
On Saturday, their Maths and teamwork skills were put to the test as they battled it out against students from as far as Montana USA! Sunday involved “The Chase” where the students took their learning outside, solving Maths against the backdrop of the Hofburg or the Rathaus.
Throughout the weekend, all seven students were such superb Park Lane ambassadors, demonstrating maturity, integrity and teamwork throughout. They should be very proud of themselves – we certainly are!
