I graduated from University of Warwick in 1996 and travelled to the Czech Republic to teach English. I chose Czechia only because they came second in the European football championship that year. I met my wife during this time and enjoyed the country immensely. On returning to England we settled on the south coast where I taught maths for the next 25 years. 7 years ago, we decided to relocate to Prague and have never looked back.
While in the UK I was both Head of Year and Head of Department, teaching in four different schools in and around the Portsmouth area. I have taught all age groups from 11-year-olds to 18-year-olds. I have run various sports clubs in this time but am now most interested in table tennis. I am most happy when getting lost in puzzles and won’t stop until they are solved.
I love cycling and so enjoy exploring the Czech countryside. When we have time, my wife and I enjoy travelling, experiencing new cultures and food and meeting new people.
