School Council
The School Council is an essential part of our ‘Pupil Voice.’
The Park Lane School Council consists of dedicated and enthusiastic pupils from both the Primary and Secondary campuses who are passionate about making a positive difference within our school community.
As the majority of the Primary and Secondary pupils are based in different buildings, each council meets separately throughout the school year to discuss ideas, projects and ways to improve school life within their own campus communities.
In the Primary School, pupils are chosen to represent their classes and take part in regular School Council meetings. In the Secondary School, two pupils from each year group represent the views and ideas of their peers.
Within the councils, pupils take on a range of leadership roles, including President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Public Officers and Class Representatives. These roles help pupils develop confidence, responsibility and leadership skills while supporting the work of the council across the school year.
The President and Vice President help lead meetings and assemblies, while the Secretary records ideas and discussions. The Treasurer supports fundraising initiatives and Public Officers help promote events and share information with the wider school community. Representatives gather feedback and suggestions from pupils in their classes or year groups to ensure all children have a voice.
The council encourages children to take responsibility, work collaboratively and become active members of the school community. Their ideas, creativity and commitment continue to have a positive impact across the school.
The Park Lane School Council aims
- to listen to other pupils’ ideas and take action to make their learning better
- and provide the best possible learning environment.
