As a part of their Chemistry topic on separating mixtures, 7P has been learning about the water crisis. Specifically, the growing concern about access to clean water across the globe.
This led to a mini STEAM project where students applied their knowledge of separation techniques to determine which materials are best for creating water filters.
The students took their designs and built their final products in the lab. We had a varying range of success and have reflected on which natural and accessible products could be used to obtain clean water.
