A big thank you to all the staff volunteers and to the students who went on the highly successful Bronze and Silver DofE Assessed expedition this weekend in the beautiful Český ráj region.
The students have been in training for this expedition throughout the year; in small groups they planned their own routes and hiked two or three days carrying all the equipment they would need to be self-sufficient during this time whilst working on their expedition aim. Each evening they set up camp and cooked a meal in their groups.
We were very impressed with the students’ positive attitude towards the physical and mental challenges of the hiking and how well they put into place their pre-expedition training to ensure they stayed hydrated in the heat.
It was wonderful to see the progress individuals and groups made in their ability to navigate, work together as a team and problem solve throughout the weekend.
