Last Friday 77 students from Y5 and Y6 visited the Valdstejnska site for our third annual STEAM day. This year the theme of the day was Guy Fawkes and students attended the following sessions delivered by our dedicated secondary subject specialists:
– ‘Defying gravity or how to build a rocket’ – with Mr Dunwell (Chemistry)
– ‘Rubber band rockets’– with Mr Teasdale (Art)
– ’Explosive Robotics’ – with Mr Zajac (Computing)
– ‘The story of Guy Fawkes or Spies’ beginners class with cryptography’– with Mrs Zajac (Mathematics)
Here’s what the secondary staff said:
‘We were blown away by how engaged, keen to learn and bright the Y5 and Y6 were. It was a joy to teach them last Friday.’
