On Monday 18th December, the Valdštejnská site was transformed for a ‘Mission to Mars’ themed project. During this event, Miss Castello and Mrs Gifford found themselves stranded on Mars while searching for potential residential locations for future trips. All KS3 students were tasked with using their interdisciplinary skills to bring them back to Earth safely.
The students had a unique opportunity to participate in various STEAM challenges throughout the day. In Maths, they were able to build a Mars lander, while in Art and MFL sessions, they designed a space suit. Computer Science allowed them to program an escape route for a space rocket and Physics involved recreating scenes from Apollo 13. To conclude the event, Mr. Spratek from the Planetarium gave an inspiring talk about space.
