In our final term of Year 1, we have begun our journey on multiplication and division. First off, we began with repeated addition, then learned how to make arrays and finally we moved on to doubling numbers. After this, we were able to turn arrays into multiplication statements, along with the commutative. We supported our learning practically, by using different items, such as: counters, magic beans, cubes and lollipop sticks.
So far, we have learned our 2, 5 and 10 times tables and we have been working hard to fill in the gaps! We are also using Times Tables Rock Stars on the iPads during our free ICT time! During our weekly Key Skills sessions, we have been strengthen our learning. We can’t wait to develop our skills and learn more!
