It has become an annual custom for students of the Music Department to attend the British Chamber of Commerce Gala Evening.
This year, another major act from the “Bond movies” category appeared in theatres, so the topic was clearly given. The new Bond song by Billie Eilish is called No Time To Die, and if you know this song, you will know that playing it on acoustic instruments is a big challenge. Our students treated it with joy and great professionalism. The students performed at a very high level and were applauded with a standing ovation. During the evening, Nick Archer, the UK Ambassador, came to our table to congratulate Jan Bébr for our talented students. Later, Guy Barker, the BCC Chairman, also came to voice his appreciation of the level of our performance.
