My teaching career began in public schools in the United States twenty years ago, and I have spent the majority of my career in private schools teaching chemistry, physics, and biology to an international population of students. I value the diversity of perspectives and experiences that my students bring to our lessons, these contributions are essential to meaningful learning. Having worked as a research engineer previously, I have come to believe that hands-on experience and collaboration drive innovation. I also believe that we need to consider the implications of technology and consequences of technological development and students will have many opportunities to reflect on concepts like sustainability, resources, and ethical aspects of science. Park Lane aims to create well-rounded, inquisitive, and globally-minded scientists, and I look forward to my classes being part of that development.
In my free time, I enjoy chasing around a rambunctious toddler named Henry and trying to encourage his passion for the natural world. I also enjoy most outdoor activities including things like biking, hiking, scuba diving, and skiing. My wife is also an educator and living in Prague for several years has given us the opportunity to explore this amazing country and all it has to offer. I am looking very forward to meeting the rest of the school community and experiencing all the opportunities that will come our way.
