Tu Lay Luu

Teacher of Chemistry & Coordinated Sciences

I have always been fascinated with Science, even at a young age, I was one of those kids who would take things apart, or change a recipe just to see what would happen. After graduating with a BSc in Chemistry in London, I pursued a career as a research development scientist, developing cancer drugs and successfully contributed towards the research of a drug currently on the market today.

I have also worked in different positions within the pharmaceutical industry, before turning my attention towards teaching and I started my teaching career as an SEN teaching assistant and completed my Diploma in SEN teaching and learning. However, I wanted to be more involved with science education and went on to work at the University of Brighton, where I obtained my PGCE in Further Education.

From there, I decided to expand my teaching experience internationally and have worked in international schools in Thailand and Germany, where I have shared my knowledge and experiences with my students, in the hope they are excited about Science as I am. Within my teaching, I like to put theories into practice and try to get the students involved as much as possible, through the practical experiments and demonstrations that take place in the lessons.  I have also delivered a forensic and science club as extra curricular activities, as well as ran workshops for parents who were interested in learning about some of the science topics that were taught in the school.

In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors and discovering new places. I have a love for food and enjoy cooking and baking too, as well as going to the gym and doing pilates. I am really excited to be in Prague and I look forward to exploring its culture.
