PLISMUN ’24’s opening ceremony took place near Václavské Náměstí, in the exquisite Zenwork co-working space, generously granted to us by Mr. Ryan Wray. The organisational team commenced their work in the early morning hours, ensuring that all necessities were in place promptly for the arrival of chairs and delegates. At the entrance, a beautiful PLISMUN mural was drawn, providing an opportunity for everyone to take a photo upon arrival.

Following the speeches of the Secretary-General, Vera Motrenko, and the organisational team, our first guest speaker, Jurgen Van Meirvenne, the Belgian ambassador in Prague, took the floor. Filled with wit, humour, and insightful reflections on his experiences, Jurgen Van Meirvenne’s speech captured the attention of all delegates, honouring us with his presence. Richard Krpáč, the Deputy Minister for International and European Cooperation at the Ministry of Justice, served as our second distinguished guest speaker. He provided us with an opportunity to gain insights into the world of politics from his perspective through active engagement.

Overall, the opening ceremony of PLISMUN’24 set a virtuous tone for the rest of the conference, and we look forward to the upcoming days. We will provide you with comprehensive coverage of the entire conference in the next edition.
