Every pupil comes to the classroom with a different world experience. We know that pupils who have been exposed to many different things do better in school. In order to be successful readers, pupils need to relate what they read to what they’ve experienced. To think broadly pupils need to have a variety of experiences. By going on school trips we can bring a subject to life, increase motivation, boost confidence, and broaden horizons.
This term Year 4 pupils will have gone to the Technical museum to learn about inventions and working conditions for children in mines, visited the Comenius museum to explore schools in the past, traveled to the road safety park to learn how to be safe and build their confidence, and explored the connection between electricity and art at the Kunsthalle exhibition place.
