There are moments in school life that bring pure joy and lasting memories—and last week’s football tournament was one of them. For the first time ever, our Year 3 girls took part in a professionally organised football tournament, hosted by Sparta, and the excitement was simply unforgettable.
From start to finish, the event was filled with energy, learning, and fun. Each participating team was assigned a professional Sparta coach. The coaches were not only highly skilled but also incredibly committed, ensuring the girls got the most out of the experience. Their passion for the game and encouragement helped the girls grow in confidence and ability throughout the day.

When not on the pitch, the girls continued practicing their passing and shooting, eager to improve with every moment. Despite a challenging start with three losses in a row, our team never gave up. Their resilience paid off in a thrilling final match, where they triumphed with an impressive 11–1 victory!

Mr. Andrea called it his best sports event at Park Lane, and praised the girls for their outstanding teamwork, exemplary behaviour, and tireless effort. In total, the team scored an impressive 19 goals which means they secured 5th place out of 9 teams—an outstanding achievement for their first official tournament.
Some standout performances included:

  • Lucy and Viki, our top goal scorers,
  • Emilia, shone as the team’s best defender,
  • Laura, recognized for her team spirit and support,
  • Simona, who wowed everyone by scoring five goals in the final match!

When asked about their experience, the girls were full of enthusiasm:
“It was a great experience! The coach was super and we loved her activities and warm-up. We liked getting the medals. The last match was the best, and we would go there every day!”

Events like this show the true value of sport—not just in results, but in the lessons learned, friendships made, and confidence gained. What more could we ask for? A huge congratulations to Emilia, Lucy, Laura, Viki, and Simona and a huge thank you to Mr Andrea for his neverending support and continued dedication!
