Our topic in Year 4 this term is Tremors so we kickstarted our learning with a great trip to the Planetarium where we witnessed the demise of ancient Lisbon (earthquake and tsunami). During the course of this topic we are designing and building a town, creating its inhabitants, and trying to save them from several natural disasters! We are learning how volcanoes are formed, where they are located, how an eruption happens, and the type of volcano it creates. We will also explore some historical eruptions, including Pompeii.
