“The Answer Is Yes—and Yes!”
by Paul Ingarfield (Principal from 2012-date)
Back in 2012–13, Park Lane International School was a thriving primary and kindergarten community spread across two sites, with our oldest pupils just approaching the age of 11. During that time, I met with a small but visionary group of Park Lane’s pioneer parents to discuss something that, at the time, existed only as an idea and a plan: our future senior school for students aged 11 to 18.
I had recently moved to Prague from Amman, Jordan, where I had led a school of 1,400 students—first as Head of Secondary and later as Whole School Principal. At our after-school meeting in September 2012, held in the assembly hall of our lovely Norbertov site, the parents’ questions were many and varied. Most were straightforward to answer. But one parent’s thoughtful challenges have stayed with me ever since.
Mr. K., a Czech parent with three children at Park Lane—including his eldest, who was due to finish Year 6 the following June—looked me in the eye and asked the question that truly cut to the heart of the matter:
“Why should we place our trust in a brand-new secondary school that doesn’t yet exist? A school with no confirmed premises, no academic record, no graduates, and no reputation among universities?” Read more…
What Students & Parents Say about Park Lane International School
“Hi, I am Tom Johnson and I graduated from Park Lane in 2020. I am currently reading law at the University of Glasgow, which ranked 2nd in the UK for law in 2019. Upon finishing university, I would like to pursue a career in the legal profession. I consider my time at Park Lane an integral chapter of my education as a whole. I joined the school in 2014 and I can say that I do not regret it in the slightest. Park Lane put the success of its students above everything else. One of the most notable things about it, is that it is not just a school, but a community. It has the perfect environment to balance learning and diversion. Students at Park Lane are surrounded by extremely hardworking teachers and supporting staff — something that reassured and motivated me to do my best. I can honestly say that I would not be where I am today without my time at Park Lane.”

Djorf Amirouche
Born to an Algerian father and American mother, I was raised across the Mediterranean becoming multilingual and intercultural. This transient upbringing endowed a deep empathy that informs my teaching. I studied molecular biology at the University of Colorado Boulder while also training extensively in theater arts. After beginning my career in the film industry at a talent and literary agency, I transitioned to teaching - my second calling. My time at international schools in North America, Asia, Africa and Europe honed pedagogical skills I will eagerly impart at Park Lane. Beyond the classroom, I pursue filmmaking, tennis, and biology, favouring an interdisciplinary approach to understand life's complexities. My global background has cemented my appreciation for our shared humanity and I aim to instill this cross-cultural outlook in students.
